Dear Jim, what a sad loss. I was Captain of the Grasshoppers 1968 to 1971 inc during which time Jim was so very supportive, Whilst perhaps not able to give of his best because of sever ankle problems Jim never the less unhesitatingly came forward to play in the First XV when we were struggling for a Scrum Half. Even when below his best he was still very good and when at his best, one of the very best ever to grace a Grasshopper shirt. I shall not only remember Jim for his playing though. He was a sincere friend and a wonderful 'mixer' with people and he had the most whimsically sharp wit. He had the knack of being able to take the mickey out of somebody, yet not be offensive. A truly priceless gift and one that endeared Jim to all.. Rest in peace Jim and try not to throw any of those low passes to all those Stand-offs up there. Thanks for the Memory - Glyn Williams
